Sunset Cruises in Mallorca: Routes, Tips & What to Expect

Sunset Cruises in Mallorca: The Ultimate Evening on the Water

There are few experiences in the Mediterranean that rival watching the sun set over Mallorca from the deck of a yacht. The island's west-facing coastline provides front-row seats to some of Europe's most spectacular sunsets, with the sky turning from gold to pink to deep purple as the sun dips below the horizon.

Why a Sunset Cruise?

Mallorca's sunsets are famous for a reason. The island's position in the western Mediterranean means the sun sets directly over the sea from most of the west and southwest coast. From a yacht, you get an unobstructed 360-degree view — no buildings, no crowds, just the horizon.

What Makes It Special

  • Unobstructed views — no buildings or trees blocking the horizon
  • Golden hour photography — the light on the water is extraordinary
  • Cooler temperatures — the evening sea breeze is refreshing after a hot day
  • City lights — watching Palma's cathedral illuminate as darkness falls
  • Privacy — just you and your guests on a private yacht
  • Best Sunset Cruise Routes

    Palma Bay Classic (3 hours)

Departure: 18:00 from Club de Mar, Palma

Route: Palma → Illetes → Portals Nous → Return

Highlights: Cathedral views, beach club atmosphere, city lights on return

This is our most popular sunset cruise. You'll cruise west from Palma along the Paseo Marítimo, passing the iconic cathedral and the Royal Palace before reaching the Illetes beaches. The sunset from Illetes, with Palma's skyline behind you, is unforgettable.

    Southwest Coast Sunset (4 hours)

    Departure: 17:00 from Port Adriano

Route: Port Adriano → Portals Vells → Cap de Cala Figuera → Return

Highlights: Cliff scenery, secluded coves, dramatic sunset over open sea

For a more dramatic setting, the southwest coast offers towering cliffs and secluded coves. The sun sets directly ahead as you cruise west, creating a golden path across the water.

    Formentor Sunset (4 hours)

    Departure: 17:00 from Port d'Alcudia

Route: Alcudia → Playa de Formentor → Cap de Formentor → Return

Highlights: Lighthouse views, dramatic cliffs, mountain sunset

The sunset from Cap de Formentor is legendary. The lighthouse at Mallorca's northernmost point provides a dramatic backdrop as the sun sets behind the Tramuntana mountains.
