Getting to Your Yacht: The Complete Airport-to-Marina Guide
One of the most common questions we receive from first-time charter guests is: "How do I get from the airport to the marina?" The good news is that Mallorca makes it remarkably easy. Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is one of Europe's best-connected airports, and our marinas are all within a short drive.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)
Palma's Son Sant Joan Airport is the third busiest airport in Spain and one of Europe's major holiday gateways:
- Direct flights from over 180 destinations across Europe
- Major airlines: Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling, Eurowings, TUI, British Airways, Lufthansa, Iberia, Swiss, SAS, Norwegian
- Peak season: Over 1,500 flights per week (June–September)
- Location: 8 km east of Palma city centre
- FBO operators: Gestair, ExecuJet, Universal Aviation
- Peak periods: July–August, major events (Kings Cup Regatta)
- Cost: From approximately €2,000/hour (turboprop) to €7,000+/hour (heavy jet)
- Tip: Book slots early in peak season — restrictions apply
- Fly in the day before if possible — this eliminates any risk of flight delays affecting your charter
- Morning flights work best for same-day charters — aim to land by 08:30 for a 10:00 departure
- Pack light — Soft bags are easier to store on yachts than hard suitcases
- Wear boat-appropriate shoes — Soft-soled, non-marking footwear (no black soles)
- Apply sunscreen before boarding — Use cream, not spray (spray damages yacht surfaces)
- Bring a light layer — Even in summer, the sea breeze can be cool in the evening
Private Aviation
For guests arriving by private jet, Palma handles over 15,000 private jet movements per year, making it one of Europe's busiest FBOs:

Standard Taxi (€15–25 to Palma marinas)
The simplest option. Taxis are plentiful at the airport, and the ride to Marina Cuarentena takes approximately 15 minutes. No pre-booking required.
Private Luxury Transfer (€50–150)
For a more refined arrival, we can arrange a private transfer in a luxury vehicle. Mercedes, BMW, or even Rolls-Royce service is available. Your driver will meet you at arrivals with a name board and take you directly to your yacht.
Rental Car (Not recommended for day charters)
If you're combining your charter with a wider Mallorca holiday, a rental car gives flexibility. However, for a day charter alone, it's unnecessary — parking at marinas can be limited and expensive.
Helicopter Transfer (From €1,500)
For the ultimate arrival, helicopter transfers from the airport to the marina — or directly to your yacht — are available. This is popular with UHNWI guests and for special occasions.
The Seamless Experience
When you book an all-inclusive day charter with Yacht Rentals Mallorca, we can coordinate your entire arrival:
1. Airport pickup — Luxury vehicle meets you at arrivals
2. Direct transfer — Driven straight to the marina (15–30 minutes)
3. Marina welcome — Your captain and crew greet you at the gangway
4. Luggage handling — Bags transferred directly to the yacht
5. Departure — Underway within minutes of boarding
No parking, no navigation, no stress. From touchdown to casting off in under 30 minutes.
